Villa degli Olmi has been making wine since 1895 and is known for wines with great quality at reasonable prices. Celsole is their Primitivo from Puglia in the southernmost part of Italy.

Primitivo ripens early, so the grapes are harvested with full sweetness and ripe tannins before the hot southern summer sun takes over. The result is a full-bodied wine, where the natural acidity keeps the fruit fresh and clean.

According to the producer, it’s the perfect pizza wine – and it’s just as good with barbecue food and a cozy evening with cheese.

Grape composition: 100% Primitivo

Taste: The aroma is complex with ripe dark fruit and warm spices. The flavor is full-bodied and smooth, with notes of preserved plums and cherries and a fresh acidity that gives the wine life.
