Vivino score 4.1 (July 2025)
The team behind Château de Gourdon themselves call 921 Le Coq Rouge their "friend wine" – a wine made to be easy to like. It is produced in small quantities from Grenache with a little Syrah, Cinsault and other local grapes.
Château de Gourdon is located near Bollène in the heart of the southern Rhône, with over 50 hectares of vineyards, some of which border Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Mediterranean climate, sandy soils and the strong mistral wind produce concentrated grapes and make it possible to farm without pesticides or weed killers.
The wine ferments in concrete and steel tanks after a cold soak and a long, slow fermentation, which creates a round and supple wine with surprising depth.
