Quattro Passi Appassimento – Villa degli Olmi – Italian red wine – 2023 – 14%

Multiple award winner

Quattro Passi is made using the appassimento method, where the grapes are dried after harvest so the sugar and aromas become more concentrated – the same technique used for the famous Amarone. The grapes simply come from vineyards outside the Amarone area, and that is reflected in the price.

Corvina and Rondinella are the main grapes, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Villa degli Olmi has roots dating back to the early 1900s, when great-grandfather Giovanni combined silkworm breeding with the wine trade – and as early as 1926, his wines won a gold medal.

We recommend decanting the wine a little before serving.

Grape composition: Corvina, Rondinella, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot

Taste: Intense fruit notes of dark cherries and dried fruit. The wine is soft and pleasantly spicy, with a silky texture, lovely roundness, and a long, balanced finish.

Color: Deep dark red

Food pairing: Red meat, duck, aged cheeses, and spicy dishes.

Storage: Ready to drink now and can be kept for a few years.

Serving: Best at 18 degrees

Allergens: Contains sulfites

Fixed text (the Text/HTML element): Order before 2 pm and we ship the same day. Free delivery over DKK 500.

Villa degli Olmi

Villa degli Olmi is a family-owned wine house with roots in both Veneto and Puglia. It works with the classic grapes of each region – Primitivo and Negroamaro in the south, Corvina and Rondinella in the north – and makes wines that are generous, fruit-forward and easy to love.

What the wines share is a modern style built on ripe fruit, soft tannins and a price that makes them natural everyday wines.
