Montes was founded in 1987 by Aurelio Montes and Douglas Murray and helped put modern Chilean quality wine on the world map. Based in the Colchagua Valley, the winery has created some of the country’s most sought-after red wines.

Montes Alpha Carmenère is a smooth and flavorful interpretation of Carmenère – the old Bordeaux grape that is now Chile’s signature variety. With 10% Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, critics say it recalls a classic Bordeaux.
